Here’s some random blogging for you

Every once in awhile I think it is good for me just to blog whatever is floating around my head right this instant.

-Have you ever had Flavor Blasted Goldfish? They are delish! Seriously. I bought some for Connor, but really they were for me. I bought 2 bags.

-Connor has had “spaz poop” for 3 days. Yes, this is what he calls it. He came up with that name all on his own and it makes me laugh. Without going into too much detail, let’s just say that a few beloved pairs of Thomas underwear and one pair of sweats are no longer a part of Connor’s wardrobe…

-Hmm…should I cook tonight? Or just order pizza? Or Pei Wei?

-I went running this morning, two whole miles. I am weird when I run. First of all, I hate stopping to walk if there is traffic. I am sure the people driving by are already snickering at me as I run, but I don’t want them to snicker becuse I have to stop. Second, whenever I run I sometimes pretend I am in a race. I actually try and sprint the last little bit like I would in a race. I can almost hear the crowds cheering me on. I’m a dork.

-I am going to be so dang sore tomorrow as a result of the above metioned run.

-I need to go to Blockbuster. I really want to see Pride and Prejudice.

-I made cookies yesterday and they are almost gone today. Cookies do not last in this house!

-Logan is rocking the baby sign language. He does all done without any prompting. I need to check out a book from the library to brush up on the other signs.

-I think asparagus might be my new favorite veggie, but only the thin asparagus. We’ve had it two nights in a row and I really need to get back to HEB where they sell my favorite thin kind. Connor loves asparagus, too, thanks in big part to Veggie Tales.

-Horray for weekends! Hope you all have a great one!

Thursday Blahs

I am just in a funk today. I can’t figure out exactly. I am bored and restless and even though I can think of 500 things to do, I just don’t feel like doing any of them. We’ve been so busy this week, and maybe I just don’t know what to do with today because we didn’t have anything specific planned. Maybe it’s the weather. I just don’t know. All I do know is that I turned on the air conditioner in hopes that maybe if it’s not hot and humid in my house I will be in a better mood, and I’ve got cookies in the oven because I little chocolate always helps.

Blah.

But there are two things I keep looking at and/or thinking about that are really funny/cool. The first is Shauna’s blog. Check it out. Some classic pictures! I seriously laugh everytime I see them. Just in case you are too lazy to actually go visit her blog, here is a sneak peek…

And the second thing that makes me happy is an email I received yesterday. A few weeks ago I submitted some scrapbook pages to this website that is looking for design team members. I found out yesterday that I am one of 10 finalists. I have to make one more page based on a sketch they sent, and then they will pick 3 people. So, you non-scrappers may wonder what someone gets for being on a design team. Well, the perks include a store discount and free product in return for making pages for their website. Pretty cool deal!

Welcome to Yuppyville

Arg…I’m a pirate, originally uploaded by Mamameg.

This picture of Connor cracks me up! He reminds me of a pirate. This is Connor in full jet-engine-watching mode. We are lucky enough to live right next to an air field. I think that astronauts do their training there, and also the Coast Guard. We get a lot of air traffic. Not an obnoxious amount, but enough to keep Connor happy.

Anyway, this picture has nothing to do with the rest of the post. I just thought it was pretty funny. Oh, and I also wanted to put out there that I have set up a Flickr account where I upload lots of pictures. If you ever feel the need to see more of Connor and Logan, as if I don’t post enough of them on here, check it out here

Okay, back to the subject…Welcome to Yuppyville. It’s offical. We are yuppies. I stay at home, drive a minivan, go to a playgroup, and just participated in the madness called preschool registration. For the past month, I have been researching preschools for the fall, and discussing it with the girls in playgroup. It is seriously hardcore! It’s hard to get the kids in some of these places! I decided the most important thing behind quality and affordability is a program that runs for 5 hours. A lot of them only go from 8:30-11:30. I found 3 that run from 9:00-2:00. One of them has a lottery system to get in and is pretty expensive. One filled up before even offering public registration (meaning current students and church members filled the classes). The third one is where I decided I wanted Connor to go. Three of the other kids from playgroup also decided to go there. Registration is today. Kathy (my sister-in-law) calls me yesterday. “Megan, we need to get there really early. There are only 6 spots left for 3 year olds.” Registration is supposed to start at 9:00 and I should really be there around 8:00 to make sure we get a spot. We arrived at 8:30, after a minor car scare-my yuppy minivan would not start this morning. I really thought that we were going to be too late, but we made it in just barely. The girl that walked in right after us filled the last spot. I feel bad for the people who arrived to register at 9:15 and didn’t get in. That’s probably when I would have gone if Kathy hadn’t called and warned me! It’s just crazy! And the craziest part is, I was right there in the mix of the crazy mom’s who want their kid in the certain school. Yuppyville…I going to have to get used to this!
