Am I the only one who thinks this is really weird?
I cut this out from the newpaper coupons this morning. Seriously, is there someone out there who collects kind of creepy looking life-like newborn dolls? Is this for a kid? Or to display in some fancy armoire like Precious Moments figurines? I just don’t get it.
Newborns are not cute.
Well, Connor and Logan were, but I am pretty sure only to their grandparents, Derek, and I. Newborns are sweet, and soft, and cuddly, and absolutely amazing. But they are not particurlarly cute for the most part.
And Baby William here is definitely not a cute baby. Are you supposed to cuddle him? He is “fully as large as a newborn and artfully jointed to sleep blissfully or snuggle in your arms.”
I don’t get it.

I was so sad when I got home last night from Texas…
I had a little box waiting for me so I opened it and it was like smiles and rainbows, Patrick, laughter, and yellow cupcakes with sprinkles in one tiny book. You are amazing. It is so cute. Thank you so much for thinking of me and making a wonderful reminder or all the things I love about Patrick and his family. You are so special! I love you future sister in law.
(p.s. I figured this would work better than trying to get ahold of eachother over the phone. Sorry I stink at telephone communication)
p.p.s. Nice post. Funny. Creepy. We need more people to ask those hard questions in life. Where are these baby consumers and what do they do with them? (Patrick and I almost choked when we read it because we were laughing so hard)
I once saw the exact same thing in a magazine, only it was a baby Michael doll. I agree these things are really creepy! It would be fun though to scare the neighbors by walking around cuddling one and talking to it.
Holy Cow! That is one ugly baby! I don’t know why anyone would want that?!?!? I was a little creeped out when my grandma showed me 2 dolls that she ordered. One had my face when I was little (it was a photo of me that they copied onto the cloth face of the doll) and the other was my cousins face. It was a little freaky to see youself as a doll!

William is a beast- he looks like he is pooping! Who would want that thing around thwe house? Where would you even put it?
Grody! Is that even how you spell that word? I don’t know but I do know that grody is the only word I can think to describe baby William. He doesn’t even look like a newborn. Maybe a newborn alien baby…
OK I’m seriously laughing out loud. I feel sorry for William’s mother. I couldn’t honestly say to his mother, “he’s beautiful”, I would be a liar, and we all know that liars go to hell.
