Zipadeedoda

my oh my what a wonderful day!

Despite a less-than-perfect night of sleep (what is with the middle of the night thunderstorms! Poor Logan bug freaked out and needed to be cuddled all night long. While that is super duper sweet, it doesn’t make for the best sleep…)

anyway, despite a short night and some trepidation about this day, it has been fantastic so far!

We had to get to Connor’s school 15 minutes early for my first ever parent/teacher conference. Getting everyone ready and out the door is no easy task, but I knew this part of the day would run smoothly when Connor came out of his room fully dressed, no prompting or anything, just dressed. I love when he is Mr. Independent like that!

Then, Connor received a glowing report from him teacher! I have to brag on my boy for a minute.
His teacher had nothing but good things to say about him! He listens, he contributes to class, he’s sweet, kind, empathetic when his friends need it, and just a great kid. What mom doesn’t love to hear that her child is joy! I am so very proud of the person he is growing into.

And look how far he has come as far as academics is concerned-not only is he one of just a handful that can write their names, but look how much his drawing has improved! Here is a “picture of mommy” from August, 2006.

And here is a picture of Mommy from Tuesday.

I really like my hair do in the second picture. I told you the humidity was bad and I wouldn’t have a good hair day for 6 months!

So of course I was in a great mood when I got home from Connor’s school. About half an hour later, the doorbell rings. It’s the Fed Ex man leaving a package on our porch! Score! It was from Scrapbook Trends, and it contained 2 copies of their latest idea book, Mini Albums II, lots of goodies, and my album that is in the book. Not only am I in the book, but my album made the cover! Not that anyone would know it was my album, but I know it is! It’s the one with the ribbon.

Then Logan proceeded to take a two and a half hour nap, I made pasta salad for Connor’s teacher appreciation luncheon, planned dinner, watched a little tv, printed a few pictures for scrapping later, and throughly enjoyed my 2 hours of peace and quiet.

And tonight is The Office and Grey’s Anatomy.
Today is a fantastic day!
