Summertime….and the livin’s easy

We are all still here, alive and kicking. I just haven’t been in the mood to blog. Not much to say…I could give you the run down of my days, but c’mon. That’s just sort of boring. It’s officially summer! This is the first summer that I get to experience the joy of having both kids home all the time. And by joy I definitely mean excitement, over stimulation, and eventually the countdown of C starting school again. I can’t wait until the pool opens up next week. I predict we will go swimming nearly every day!

On a totally different note, does anyone know how to get blood out of carpet? Apparently, Connor felt the need to hang over the side of the couch for awhile before alerting me to his massive bloody nose. Resolve made it not look like a crime scene in here, but now it’s just a huge brown stain. Any ideas? Of course, now it’s been 2 days since in happened, so it’s nice and set in…

If you have a little girl and you invite us to your birthday party, this is what you will most likely receive as a gift:

I made that for a little girl in Connor’s class. I filled it with some markers, a little notebook, a few pencils, and stickers. I love how it turned out, and it’s was such an affordable little gift.

Okay, time to figure out what is on our agenda for today. I am sure I will be back to normal blogging soon!

  1. Just wanted to remind you that Mackenzie had a birthday a few weeks ago and Macy’s is in a few days. Since you are never here – I cannot really invite you to their parties…but if I remember correctly, I have come to one or two of your kid’s parties. Thanks so much for your attention to this serious matter.

    Sincerely,

    Roomate

  2. Oxi Clean has gotten out ever stain I have used it on, even red wine. I would buy the powder and mix it with water so you can make it a little stronger if necessary. Oh and I love the bag.

  3. M, You can try what has always worked for me on every stain. It’s called “Incredible Carpet Stain Remover” and you can get it at HEB. I have used it on every imaginable stain, young and old alike. Just be sure to test a spot first because in my new house, it didn’t work, and left a “greasy” spot. I think it is my carpet’s fault, not the remover! But, I promise it’s the best. Good luck. With two boys, you may need stock in the company, hahaha.

  5. Cute bag! I’m going to have a blog just for you soon. I have to get the picture scanned in to the computer first, and you probably don’t remember the event, but I came across this picture from a retreat. I have often thought about recreating the day, but it’s one of those once in a lifetime fun times!

  6. Megan,
That is a great question. I asked my students in class and they suggested this great traditional Chinese fix- first you whip peanutbutter, chocolate and eggwhites together, and when it begins to settle pour in red wine until you have enough liquid to cover the stain. Finally when you have worked that in for about an hour, pour bleach over the spot. That should do the trick.

  7. **Hey girlie!! Well I just love Summer too and luvin that cute little bag you made. Awesome, awesome! Not sure about the whole blood stain thing… but if you do find an answer let me know, always good to know!

  8. LOL! I like Noel’s solution the best 😉 I’ve used peroxide before and it bubbles out the blood. You just keep blotting it.

The present is so cute!!! You’re so creative!

  9. hey Megs! CUTE bag and what a great gift idea!

(hey, I don’t want you to be the last to know…go check my blog! I almost called you today but the kids got crazy)
