Another blog about swimming

I know, I know. You are probably all wishing I would just shut up about Connor swimming and jumping off the diving board bit! But I am seriously so proud of him! No swimming lessons, just lots of hours at the pool. Weeks and weeks of encouraging and trying and practicing and now he is unstoppable. I already loved taking the kids to the pool, but now my love of the pool is at a whole new level. I am sure the other parents think I am crazy because I jump off the board as much as Connor does! Whatever-I say all mom’s need some fun in their life! Hey moms. Next time you are at the pool, I dare you to jump off the diving board, join in a game of sharks and minnows, or maybe just have a swimming race. (D and I raced tonight, and for the record, I totally kicked his butt!) I think grown ups forget how fun the pool can be, and I am determined to never forget!

So here are two videos from tonight. Derek taught Connor how to dive tonight. Well, tried to teach him. He did a pretty good job for his first time!

  1. I think that there is a pool-shaped hole inside of all the Vincent’s. To think that most of our lives were spent pool-less, minus those few days stolen away at the Bluewater Bay community pool/ mini golf course. You don’t even need to justify swimming…. you know what I say– Carpe Pool!

  2. Aw…so cute. I remember being forced to jump off the diving board by my swim teacher. It was not a happy experience, so I know it is best to let kids make their own decision on when to jump.

I can’t believe he moved into diving so quickly!

  3. Oh yeah, and you can NEVER have too many posts about swimming! I would love to have more of my own, but swimming alone isn’t so great, and I can’t figure out how to keep the stupid pool blue!!! Maybe by next season we’ll get it figured out, of course, we may be in a drought next season, which will help the pool, but not so much the yard!
