Top 10

Ten good (or great!) things that happened this weekend:

1. My sweet friends from church threw me a baby shower. It was so much fun to have some girl time, and to get so many sweet things for baby girl.

2. Our neighborhood pool opened. Three cheers for swimming!

3. I found a bathing suit that works! I finally got around to trying on a maternity bathing suit…holy unflattering-ness, batman! It was maybe the most unflattering, unattractive article of clothing I have ever had on my body. The top looked like and tent, and let’s just say it didn’t offer the support that I need. The bottoms revealed my lovely saddle bags in all their glory. I almost wish I had a picture of myself in this suit so you could see that I am not being dramatic. Then I had a lightbulb moment. Why not look for a regular bathing suit, just a few sizes bigger? That way I can still get one that covers my saddle bags, and is supportive on top. I am fine with something tight on my belly-I actually like that part. Kohl’s came through for me once again, and I found a suit that is acceptable for wearing in public. Mission accomplished.

4. Disk 1 and 2 of Friday Night Lights Season Two arrived from Netflix.

5. Connor and Logan invented a new hide and seek game that keeps them happy for hours. Well, maybe not hours, but for awhile at least. I love when they play together happily.

6. I got a few more cute maternity clothes. Woo hoo for cute preggo clothes!

7. We went to the mall as a family (which is something we never ever do), and everyone had fun. Even Derek and the boys.

8. We spent the evening swimming with friends last night. It was great!

9. I made mac and cheese and sausage for lunch today. (I am running out of things and I’m determined to make it to 10.)

10. I am caught up on laundry. Love that.

All in all, it was a great weekend!

  1. Mmm…Mac and Cheese! That’s our Saturday lunch a lot, and we don’t even have kids. That definately deserves a Top 10 moment! In college, Jo and I babysat for Mac and Cheese!
