Holy Laundry Day, Batman

This, my friends, is what three weeks worth of laundry looks like. .

This is definately not my typical laundry schedule. The only reason it has gotten this out of control is because we were waiting on a part for our washer. It’s actually a huge mook. We ordered the part and had it sent to our house, thinking it would be sent directly from the warehouse. But it got sent to the store and then on to us, and appearantly it takes 10 days at least for that part. So we ordered the part on the 9th, it arrived at Sears on the 11th, but we didn’t receive it until the 23rd! Insane.

How about a little game? I’ll send a prize to the person who guesses how many loads that is. Come on…you know you want to play! Everyone loves a guessing contest. A hint for you all…my washing machine is not too terribly large. Here’s the pile from another angle.

I better see some guesses or I am going to think that no one ever reads this thing…

  1. I’m going to go with 8. I had a pile close to that not too long ago. The washing isn’t the bad part, it’s the folding, hanging, ironing & putting away!!! Have fun with that!

  2. Okay, so I am just one of those people who love blogging, and I found your blog through Lindsey…who I found through the ice cream post… ANYHOW, I love both your blogs. So now that you think I am totally wacko, since I am some stranger looking at your laundry… I am going to guess that you will have 7 loads of laundry.
    1-Whites
    1-Lights
    1-Darks
    1-Brights
    1-Browns/Khaki
    1-Towels
1-Just throwing in another for the heck of it

  3. I’m guessing 15 loads and 2 days to get it done. The dryer is electric and first hand experience says it will take an hour to dry some of the loads……

  4. I gotta go with 9. I really like Karyn’s logic, but I have to believe some of those categories still took two loads. When are you going to divulge the answer?

  5. Ahhh, thats where I fail…I’m not a big color separator. I obviously dont’ put whites in with reds, but I’ll put some dark t-shirts in with reds if it will fill up a load. I always use full loads. So I’ll amend my guess and go with 8.

  6. I am going for 11 loads – I see that there are a few other guesses for 11 so you need to think of a tie breaker. Because I am sure we will win this! GOOOOOOO ELEVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  7. 9 loads depending upon the size of your washing machine. I too, used to live in Southern California. Now I wash and fold clothes in Oregon and make DVDs about animals.
