I used to have straight hair

It didn’t have the kind of straight hair that hung long and luxurious without any effort, but I had the kind of straight hair that just needed a quick blow dry and nothing else. That all changed when I got pregnant with Connor. As if it wasn’t enough that I put on nearly 50 pounds, and had my entire body break out it zits, but suddenly I had to contend with unruly wavy hair. Oh, and it was really only wavy on the underneath parts, so it’s not like it was cute movie star wavy hair. I’ve spent most of the past 7 years straightening my hair. I did go through a wavy season…it got even wavier when I was pregnant with Logan and I just decided to embrace it, especially when we moved the Land of Humidity.

One thing Suz and I did last weekend was mess with my new haircut. We died it slightly blonder, and she decided that I needed to mess it up a bit instead of painstakingly flat ironing it. I liked the result…it’s different…very voluminous…but much easier and Suz was freaking out about how cute it was. So that’s what I’ve done the past 3 days. I have to admit that I’m liking it, but I’m not sure if it’s because of how it looks or because it takes me less than 5 minutes to fix. I’m all about 5 minute hair, especially with a cut that will not work in a pony tail.

So, tell me.
(and yes, this might just be a shameless “tell me I look good!” post.)
but really. what do you think?

  1. Curly is definitely a good problem to have. I had the jr. high pony tail phase that I literally lived in for 3 years. In 10th, I realized I could straighten it with the right curling iron (that’s right…we’re THAT old!), and then the summer after my freshman year, I put mousse in it just to see what would happen, and I was elated to see that yes indeed, my hair could be curly in an orderly, as opposed to poofy and out of control, fashion! Now, I’m curly most days with the occasional straight hair days. (I almost put straight days, came close to giggling out lound in my classroom with 2 students in here tests, and thought better of it. I’m SO a jr. high teacher!)

  2. I LOVE this haircut on you! I wish I had wavy hair… very jealous! I think it’s adorable! Very flattering to your cute face.

  3. wow, I have missed some action on your blog this week! I had a lot of reading to do! First of all, I really love your hair, I do! I love the footage of Camryn crawling! adorable!!!! You will have to post a pic of Camryn in her pink polka dot shirt! 🙂

  4. Megan, I do LOVE the sass that the curls have added to your new “How I Chopped All My hair off” Story. Then again, I am a big curly nerd, and I love to share in every curly girls’ victory over the flat iron. Not that I am against flat ironing your hair, I am just all about being you and loving being you. So, if wavy is easier and you feel better, then embrace it! I have products that you would love, that will add more curl to your waves the more you use it. And that’s a promise. http://www.mydevacurl.com Check them out! Well done on your hair!!
