I was a bit of a rockstar today

I’m about to toot my own horn. Just so you know. Nothing wrong with a little horn tooting every once in awhile.

Today I…
-went to the gym.
-showered, shaved, got dressed in jeans not sweats, fixed my hair, and put on mascara.
-made 3 ice cube trays of baby food, carrots and apples.
-had dinner ready to pop in the oven by 2:30 p.m.
-took the boys to get their hair cut, with a stop at Sonic along the way for slushes, or “flushies” as Logan calls them.
-played play-doh and Connect 4.
-cleaned up the huge mess from making baby food and cooking dinner. (I’ll will admit that more times than not, I leave the mess for Derek. I married the greatest man ever who never complains when I leave the mess for him.)
-Finished painting the kitchen cabinets. Yes, the same cabinets I started painting last March. There were 4 inside cabinets that never got painted because I was sick and tired of painting by the end of that little huge project. I’m notorious for things like that. For example, in our first apartment, I painted the kitchen cabinets (will I ever learn??), painted the walls, and stenciled sunflowers. Oh yes I did. Sunflowers. But I didn’t finish any of the edges. Two years later when we moved out, Derek spent a day finishing up the kitchen project. And right now, as I sit here, there is a corner in the bathroom that is adorned with painter’s tape, ready to be touched up. It’s been that way for 2.5 years. But I digress. This post is not about how I start projects and don’t finish them.
-Put away laundry
-Gathered the rest of the Christmas stuff and put it in a box. Yes, I realize it’s January 7, and way past time for Christmas to be put away. Whatever.

It’s 7:45, the boys are tucked in, Camryn is here next to me in her exersaucer. It’s been a good day. On the agenda tonight: play guitar hero, read New Moon, scrapbook, catch up on blogs. It will be a good night.

  1. WEll look at you Ms Task Master. I’m definitely impressed…but not at all surprisd *wink* I’m with you on tasks that need completion. I myself am like that too. So nothing but love for ya on that end.

  2. Congratulations! Gotta love productive days. I’m laughing because I stenciled ivy around the top of our first kitchen. I also painted those kitchen cabinets green, I believe. And when we moved out, I had all kinds of touching up to do because I had done such a i’m-in-a-hurry-and-don’t-have-time-to-do-this-right kind of job. And today, I am finishing painting our dining room because company arrives tonight. Why, oh why do we do this to ourselves? (But my dining room looks awesome. I think you should come see it.:)

  3. All of my Christmas stuff is still up. I didn’t get home until Jan 4th, went back to work the next morning and have just been too exhausted every day when I get home to worry about them. Sue me. 🙂

  4. You go girl!!! I am finally back to the land of being a friend and not just a mommy and wife. How are you? We need another playdate. Glad you are doing well.
